WHERE WE EXCEL

At Our Lady of Guadalupe, we stress a balance of intellectual knowledge and skills with the social, personal, physical, and spiritual activities that occur within the normal school year. This educational climate that the school strives to foster is consistent with our belief that a school should develop the whole child to their full potential. The importance placed upon the spiritual aspect of a student’s development is enhanced by the use of the:

  • Prayer Center
  • Guided Meditations
  • Prayer Services
  • First Friday Masses
  • Children's Liturgy of the Word
  • Reconciliation Services
  • Retreats
  • Meetings with the pastor

The school encourages students to develop social relationships because the faculty and staff believe that it is through positive interaction that our students learn cooperation, goal setting and social awareness. Among the purposeful activities that the school has to help students in this area are:

  • Sports Night
  • Talent Show
  • Fundraisers
  • Christmas Giving Trees
  • Choral Group
  • Tone Chime Choir
  • Student Council
  • Intramural Games
  • Safety Patrol
  • Chess Club
  • Band
  • Eagles and Aquinas technology programs
  • American Girl Book Club
  • Spelling, Math, and Geography Bees
  • Class Assemblies

Our Lady of Guadalupe School, established over 85 years ago, strives consistently to maintain high moral and academic standards. The phrase, “To Teach As Jesus Did,” succinctly states what we as a school believe and express in our philosophy. We strive to achieve this in our daily practice as we meet the religious, intellectual, personal, social, and physical needs of our students, which permeates itself in a context of non-violence.
